It gives me great joy to introduce “Amogh Vārthā (वार्ता) – News of Hope, Skill, and Spirit” in our
newsletter.
Vārthā, meaning “news” in Sanskrit, is a poetic reflection of everything Amogh stands for—a sharing of meaningful stories, milestones, and dreams that embody hope, skill, and spirit.
As we unveil the very first edition of our newsletter, I feel a deep sense of gratitude and quiet pride. For over 12 years, Amogh has been a sanctuary of dignity, learning, and possibility—for children and adults with special needs, and for the families who walk beside them with unwavering love.
Every day, we witness the extraordinary courage of our students—each with their own unique abilities, challenges, and aspirations. Their needs are diverse: some thrive on structure, others shine through creativity, and many simply long for acceptance and meaningful connection. At Amogh, we strive to meet each of these needs with empathy, innovation, and respect.
None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our parents—our strongest allies and fiercest advocates. Their trust fuels our mission. We are equally grateful to our corporate partners and donors, who have stood by us not only with resources but with belief. Your generosity has enabled us to build skill development centres, launch eco-friendly product lines, and create
inclusive spaces where neurodiverse individuals can truly flourish.
This newsletter is more than an update—it is a celebration of our community. A window into the everyday triumphs and quiet victories that define the spirit of Amogh. We hope it brings you closer to our journey and reminds you that your support is not just appreciated—it is transformative.
With warm regards and renewed commitment,
Jayashree Vaitheeswaran
Managing Trustee, Amogh Centre for Persons with Special Needs
Amogh’s CSR journey began in 2017–2018 with the launch of a paper bag making unit—our first skill- building initiative supported by Can Fin Homes. Today this unit has become a vibrant space where
trainees learn to craft high-quality paper bags, gaining not only technical skills but also confidence, routine, and a sense of purpose.
Through their CSR initiative, Can Fin Homes extended vital funding to help Amogh set up its paper bag making unit—a milestone that would go on to shape dignified livelihoods for neurodiverse individuals. Two major milestones happened in the months of June and July in our livelihood programs. These programs impact more than 40 adults with neurodiverse conditions enabling them to earn and empower them.
Amogh gratefully acknowledges the unwavering support of ANZ Group Capability Centre (GCC) since 2018. Our CSR partnership with ANZ (GCC) has been a turning point in our vocational empowerment journey. With ANZ’s support, Amogh was able to stabilize its foundational programs and scale up vocational training activities for persons with neurotypical disabilities—transforming potential into progress.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to inclusion, sustainability, and long-term change.
Today, Amogh’s vocational centre stands as a vibrant space of learning and growth—rooted in the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive.
This Raksha Bandhan, Amogh planned an initiative to distribute 2,600 Rakhis with healthy cookies to children in orphanages, senior citizens in care homes, and students in government schools in a hamper. These beautiful Rakhis and Healthy cookies were handcrafted with love by adults with special needs at Amogh.
The team worked intensely to achieve the big target of making Rakhi hampers! All the Rakhis were made by special needs adults, using upcycled paper beads!
Thanks to all the donors and to @surabhifoundationtrust team for making the 2025 Rakhi campaign successful!
A big cheer for our team at Amogh, who managed to make 2600 rakhis for this initiative, which was shared with children and adults at government schools, shelters and orphanages.
Amogh celebrated its 5th year milestone with Saksham, working on inclusion and impact, on 13th of June 2025. It’s a book digitization project where the normal book is converted to audio books for the persons with visual impairment. The training for this project started in collaboration with Mission 1000 Program of Enable India in the year 2019 where we worked together in giving training to people to proofread the books digitally according to the Saksham guidelines. In this group, some of our parents and resources were also there.
At Amogh, the Saksham project started in the year 2020 where we brought in the trained resources and parents to train our students to proofread. Our students also enthusiastically learnt the work and are continuing proof reading the books. Till now we have trained 75 Neuro Diverse students including students from other NGOs for proof reading and validating.
On this day, we invited all those whom we have trained and given work to felicitate on this wonderful occasion. We invited Mr. Dipendra Manocha, Managing Trustee of Saksham as the chief guest, Shanti Raghavan, Managing Trustee of Enable India, Sreeja Parameshwaran, Program Director for Accessible books at Saksham and Dr. Hareesh, NIMHANS and many other important people from many other NGOs.
A detailed presentation was made on the impact this work has created.
Amogh honoured Mr. Dipendra with Amogh Citation and gift hampers made-at Amogh. He delivered a very inspiring speech to the audience. All guests were gifted with beautiful made-in Amogh mementos and other hand made products. Amogh validators shared their experiences in Amogh Saksham work. There were quizzes and other games conducted to engage a big gathering of proof-readers while we had the felicitation program happening on the other floor. Later, all the proof readers were given certificates and they also spoke very enthusiastically about their work.
A nice lunch was arranged for all and the day was filled with gratitude and good vibes. We are very happy to have collaborated with Saksham in doing the noble work and empowering the PWDs by giving the job and stipend and validators, who are mostly parents, to earn respect along with money.

Biocon takes its CSR initiatives very seriously, ensuring that every employee commits specific hours to social service.
Our partnership with Biocon began just two months ago, and in this short time, it has grown into something truly valuable. Every Wednesday, Biocon employees volunteer at Amogh, supporting our team in product making and daily operations.
Their commitment went even further when we needed extra hands to complete Rakhi and Ganapati orders. Biocon employees stepped up by sending volunteers every day, helping us deliver on time and with quality.
This collaboration is not just about hours spent — it’s about building bonds, creating impact, and showing how corporate engagement can empower adults with disabilities while supporting Amogh’s mission of engage, learn, work, and earn.

In this space, we celebrate the journeys of our students and trainees — stories of resilience, courage, and dignity that inspire us all and remind us why Amogh exists.
Kiran – Kiran, one of Amogh’s first trainees since June 2013, has overcome immense challenges with grace and grit. Born with a cleft palate and intellectual disability, he underwent over 22 surgeries and was on a liquid diet until age 18. Today, he’s a skilled and independent young man — trained in paper bag making, weaving, leaf plate machine operation, Terracotta and paper beads Jewellery Making and bio-enzyme preparation.
Kiran travels independently, supports his family financially, and uplifts others with his cheerful spirit and quiet leadership.
His journey reflects the heart of Amogh: dignity, purpose, and the power of opportunity.
Amogh – is a charitable foundation aiming to provide appropriate support to different segments of our society, especially in the area of dignified living, life skills and work skills acquisition.
